Lamis Mukta
A significant body of my work explores the transmission of my Bangladeshi cultural heritage through generations as my family migrated to the UK. I’m particularly interested in how it shaped the lives of the women in my family, through what we do, wear and eat, where we go, and who we surround ourselves with.
I love to work with bright colours. Most of my works are mixed media and combine soft and sharp textures.
I sketch a lot when I travel, seeking to capture the warmth and nostalgia of places I visit.
